Each local commercial radio station in the UK has requirements in respect of its music and local content, such as news, speech levels etc. These requirements are set out in the station "Format", a document issued by Ofcom, the UK’s radio regulator. This Public File contains details of the elements that Ofcom regulate, such as music tracks, local news etc. It is intended to give you a better understanding of our output and what we are doing for our local community.

Radio Aire & Magic 828’s Cash for Kids
Events/charities support or coverage:
Cash For Kids is the official charity of 96.3 Radio Aire & Magic 828 (Registered Charity no. 1122062). Cash for Kids has raised millions of pounds to help sick, disabled and disadvantaged children in Leeds and West Yorkshire. Every penny raised stays in this region to support thousands of the most needy local children. Cash for Kids provides grants for individuals, other children’s charities, community groups and the health sector.

Highlights include:
Radio Aire & Magic 828’s Cash for Kids raised £890,000 in 2012, supporting over 23,000 of the neediest local children in Leeds and West Yorkshire.
In the summer Cash for Kids obtained over £20,000 worth of tickets and family activities for deprived local families as part of “Family Day”.
Radio Aire & Magic 828’s Cash for Kids delivered £504,700 worth of gifts to over 15,000 local children who were at risk of waking up to nothing on Christmas morning.

Party in the Park is run by Radio Aire and Leeds City Council and takes place each July at Temple Newsam Park. This year’s event was attended by approaching 40,000 people to see acts such as Olly Murs, Scouting for Girls, Blue and Dizzee Rascal perform live.
