PPIK Corporate Karting Cup - July 2010

Which Yorkshire Business will take the Cup for 2010?
Entries are now open for Leeds' businesses to stake their claim for their place in the corporate event of the summer as the North's leading indoor karting and conference venue PPIK launch their 2010 Corporate Cup.
Now open for entries the annual event last year saw HBOS and Royal Bank of Scotland go head to head and HBOS has already pre-registered to come back for more. An event that's valued in the region as an opportunity for bringing businesses together cost effectively for team building, and to help motivate staff, organisers are expecting over 100 teams to be involved this year.
Cash for Kids is one of the chosen charities to benefit from the funds raised at this exciting team event, along with Leeds Childrens' Hospital and Leeds Community Foundation. Organiser, Ben Hyland, who has over 15 years experience as a competitive racing driver, is urging businesses from across the region to get involved in what will be the biggest event on everyone's corporate calendar.
Open to anyone over the age of 16, along with a £200 minimum sponsorship donation with proceeds from the event split between the 3 charities, businesses can submit their entry for the Corporate Cup online at www.ppik.net/leeds-corporate-cup.
With teams of 4 drivers each taking on 1.5 hours of non stop action the heats, running in July, require team endurance and tactics but for the less skilled there's still hope as at least one wildcard team along with the winners will be invited to attend the Celebrity Final. Here contenders will race with a celebrity team member from either the world of TV, Sports or Business. Last year’s competition saw drivers from Emmerdale, Coronation Street, Leeds Rhinos, Leeds Utd and 96.3 Radio Aire presenter Rich Williams who drove and hosted the event.
The ultimate winners will be crowned champions for 2010 in a charity presentation followed by an after-race party with celebrities.
Corporate sponsorship of the event is also available for business interested in supporting the event through an alternative route - more information can be found at www.ppik.net/leeds-corporate-cup or by contacting Ben on 0845 12 606 13.
Ben, who has an MSA race license and races himself regularly at competition level, is the brainchild behind the Corporate Cup and explains what it takes to be crowned the winner: “This is a very competitive event but you must have a good sense of humour to get involved. We're expecting to see teams in their corporate colours with banners and flags, and of course lots of supporters to cheer them on!”
He added, “The concept is quite simple really, registrations can be made via our website and companies can choose their preferred race date. Work colleagues and friends raise as much sponsorship as they can to race under their corporate team name.”
The competition is now open and all entries must be submitted by July 6th 2010.
ASDA were the 2008 Corporate Games Winners with Woodall Builders lifting the cup with Emmerdale star James Thornton in 2009.
